In the course of the interview with Dr Salimpour, I indicated that I would prefer to apply the oil topically to the left hip area. Initially, I used a very small amount just to see what if anything would happen. There was no relief, so about an hour later I increased the amount of oil applied, such that the ‘slip’ of the fingers over the surface was quick and unimpeded. Fairly soon I felt significant relief from the pain; I would estimate it at about a 50 % reduction. The next day I increased the amount of oil a bit more and would say that the amount was in the range of approximately 1 – 1.5 ml; I must emphasize that this is an estimate only. The reduction in pain was very significant, perhaps in the range of 65 – 75 %,such that the pain was quite bearable. Over the course of the following month, my condition worsened considerably; while an MRI indicated that I had severe osteo-arthritis in the left hip, I believe that I somehow, in some manner, developed Lyme disease, as I had 13 out a possible 35 symptoms of Lyme, as per the book “Healing Lyme” by Steven Harrod Buehner. While I acknowledge that there are similarities in both, the condition became bilateral: both hips, shoulders, knees and to some extent – ankles, were painful. One of the characteristics of Lyme is that the tick: Borelia burgdorferi (sp?) likes to inhabit the joints. For this reason alone I do suspect Lyme. Regardless, I began applying the oil topically to both shoulders, both hips and occasionally both knees The daily application of the oil would commence in the morning after my shower ( when the pores of the skin are more open ), and also be applied at night before bed. While the relief is partial – as noted above, I found that this regimen and application of 1 –2 ml. is sufficient to allow for significant pain relief such that I can carry out a limited daily work schedule. I realize that the relief obtained thus far is dose dependent, and increased relief may result from a more generous amount of oil. However, I believe that the Bediol oil of 7% THC and 9% CBD has really helped. About once every week or so, I would also ingest about 2 – 2.5 ml of the oil; while I did notice some distinct effect of the THC, the overall effect was to very nicely soften and mute the pain I felt everywhere in my body. I should also point out that in the above topical application, there as no effect whatsoever of the THC. Trusting that this will provide some insight into how the oil may help others, sincerely.
